Now, this isn't something that's common or spoken about often, but it's something that I like to test here and there to

become more conscious of the words that I use and to tune in frankly to the

emotions and needs of others. One way that I've done this before is by putting a couple of people who I know on an apology diet.

Women often love to over-opposed. apology diet.

Women often love to over-apologize. We say sorry for things that we would apologize to a table leg for kicking it.

love to overdo so I love apology diets but this is a slightly different word

experiment and I want to tell you about it because I think it is profound

and it can give us grace in how we receive and interact with others and how we understand ourselves.

So last year I went through this phase

of replacing any negative word that I would use

to describe somebody else's mood or their reactions

with the word scared.

So instead of saying, you know, someone's angry, I'd say they're scared.

If someone's unkind or rude, I say they're scared.

If they're avoidant, I'd say they're scared.
