We have known each other a long time.

Gina was the first fiction editor at the Nervous Breakdown.com many years ago.

She is the author of four books of fiction as well as the memoir, Blow Your House Down, a story of family, feminism, and

treason. That one was published by Counterpoint Press in 2021. I spoke with Gina on this very podcast

in episode 700 back in April of 2021, if you want to check that out.

Gina's novels include A Life in Men, which came out on Algonquin in 2014, and another

novel called Every Kind of Wanting, published by Counterpoint in 2016.

Gina Frangelo is a writer whom I consider to be

flagrantly talented. She is also tireless as a writer, as an editor, as an advocate. She is a very

gifted, very powerful, very lyrical writer who can really sing on the page, if that's a way I can put it.

She makes it seem easy.

And she's also a very good editor, having worked, as I said, at the nervous breakdown, but also

as the founder of an independent press called Other Voices Books.

Additionally, she has served as the Sunday editor for the Rumpus and as the faculty editor for both

tri-quarterly online and the Coachella Review.

She has published essays in short fiction all over the place and she has taught at the college level for more than two decades.
