I never intended to start a business or to get into tech.

I'm really glad I did.

It's the greatest career path I can imagine is like starting things, building things.

But I was a Russian major in college and my dad was a professor.

My mom was a elementary school teacher.

And I just thought teaching or academia was like the noble profession like I got to be a teacher like

that's a great noble calling you help everybody by by teaching them and and and learning is important

but then my brother started a search engine company in the 80s called folio and hired me as the

lowest level employee like a peon, running a scanning machine
