Trials reveal not just who you are, but who others are.

There are people that you think are your best friend.

And then hardship comes, they're like, yeah, good luck.

And they're gone.

And then there's people that you hardly even know, and they walk into your life.

They're like, hey, I'm so sorry, how can I help?

I wasn't expecting them to walk out and you to walk in. The Puritans used to

talk about swallow friends. They leave when the fall comes. When it gets cold, they fly away.

What trials do, they reveal who we are and it reveals who others are, positively and negatively.

In addition, what trials do, they remind us that something has gone terribly wrong with our planet

and someone needs to fix it. I don't know if you are aware of this, but more than any time in

world history, we realize

that the whole planet is cursed.

There's nowhere you can go that doesn't have the curse and the fall and brokenness and death.

It's everywhere.

It's just all consuming.

And it doesn't matter how many wars we wage or how many prescriptions we hand out or how many

elections we have or how many stimulus checks we send.

It's still broken and it's flawed.

And everybody's frustrated.

They're like, what's wrong?

We broke everything.
