Summary

Here’s the loving truth: when you have children living in this situation, with their parent (or step-parent) suffering from addiction, you’ve got work to do.

You must be the strong and sober parent. You’ve got to protect them, teach them how to be safe, and educate them.

You must talk to them about addiction, no matter how awkward it may feel. And I totally understand having fears around it, I did too.

But you can learn how to talk to them about it, and I have tips for you today.

That is good enough. Now it's time to move on and it's time to put all of that energy that you have been wasting

because let's be clear it is wasting it is wasted energy it is time to put that

If you want to know how to get happy and healthy, whether they get sober or not, this is it. This is the way. You stop putting energy into them and you start putting it into yourself.

If you have kids, whether they are old or young they have also been affected by your loved ones

addictions. So let's start off with saying that they know something is going on, no matter how young they are, they understand there's problems. They might not understand that it's due to the bottle or the drugs or the pills, but they understand on some very deep level that something is going on in your home that is not okay.

The worst thing that we can do for our children is not talk about it.
