We all want our lives to tell a better story, and with God’s help, that is possible. In the Stories of Christmas series, Pastor Andy walks through three questions that shape the direction of our lives: What do you want, why does it matter, and how will you respond? Our desires influence what we notice, our expectations shape how we see God at work, and our choices move us toward the future we hope for. We are invited to let God reshape our desires, lift our perspective, and live with renewed anticipation. Instead of settling or drifting, we can lean in, pay attention, and take a step toward the story God is writing in our lives.

| 0:55.0 | you decorated like in November out of curiosity. Any of you? Okay. Wow. There are way more on Sunday morning than Saturday night. Then let's say something about the Sunday at 9 a.m. crowd. How many of you are still kind of holding out? You're waiting. You're like nobody in this, maybe a few in the service. Okay. How many of you are somewhere in between the two just out of curiosity okay so we've got everything in between but what i love about christmas |
| 1:00.4 | i love that it's an opportunity to focus in on the message of jesus you know in our culture |
| 1:06.4 | where there all the presents and lights there also is an opportunity that still so many of the songs that are sung in our culture |
| 1:12.9 | are the same songs that have been sung for ages about Jesus, about God coming from heaven |
| 1:18.6 | to earth. |
| 1:19.5 | And there's an openness in people's hearts to spiritual things in this time of year. |
| 1:23.9 | And the significance of that is that God has placed you around people, friends, family members, |
| 1:30.3 | co-workers, neighbors, that he wants to use you to impact. |
| 1:34.2 | And every year we look back and we see people who gave their life to Jesus, they were |
| 1:39.1 | forever changed because of what God did in their heart through Saddleback at Christmas. |
| 1:43.6 | And I want to encourage you, two weeks from this weekend, we have our big Christmas service. |
| 1:47.9 | I want to invite you to think about who's that person that God wants to use you to impact? |
| 1:53.6 | And there's somebody in your life that God wants seated right next to you in a Christmas service. |
| 1:59.5 | And who knows? |
| 2:00.4 | God could use that moment to impact |
| 2:03.6 | their life for all eternity. And we believe he's going to do great things through our Christmas |
