they can also enjoy the journey. You see, we're all

travelers in this world, and God has many wonderful truths to teach us along the way. For the next

few moments, we turn our attention to the Word of God, the only roadmap for this journey. You'll find

Join us now as we study the scriptures together. It is our prayer that you will enjoy the journey. I remember as a boy, my dad saying to me, son, there are two kinds of people in this world.

There are givers and there are

takers. And then I remember him drilling into my mind that he wanted me to be a giver and not a taker.

The older I get, the longer I live, the more I understand exactly what he was talking about.

May I ask you, are you a giver? I mean, do you have the spirit of a giver?

You see, that's the spirit of God. We're talking about how to stay happy in Jesus, and we've

learned from Philippians 4. If you're going to stay happy in the Lord, you've got to stay right with

one another. You've got to stay prayerful. You've got to stay in the Word. You've got to stay content in Christ. But now let's add to our list, this final

truth. You have to stay unselfish. You've got to live life, not like it's all about you, but rather

it's about meeting needs of those around you. We read in verse number 14, notwithstanding,

ye have well done that you did communicate with my

affliction. Now, ye Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed

from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

For even in Thessalonica, you sent once and again unto my necessity.

Not because I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
