Listen, everybody wants to Jesus who shows up and fixes their problems,

but I've discovered that very few people want a Jesus who disappears on them.

We're going to talk about a disappearing Jesus today.

The one that gets up and goes out into the wilderness and the dark place when you're like, wait a minute, I thought we were in the middle of doing miracles here, fixing lives. We love the miracles, don't we? We love the momentum. We love the crowds that come because of it, but we don't always understand the rhythm of Jesus behind his power. We're going to talk about that today. We're in Mark chapter one. We're working

our way through the book of Mark. We're going to get into a passage where Jesus is healing

the sick. He's been casting out demons. And he goes viral. He becomes the most talked about

name in the city. And you would think that'd be what he's after, right? Isn't that what

most church pastors would be after? Suddenly the crowds are hearing about you and they're coming to the door? He slips away. Slips away goes off into the dark. Why does he do that? We're going to talk about it. And I'll just give you a little hint. That is, what happens in private determines what can be sustained in public. Jesus is going to show us a pattern this morning. It's going to impact

our lives if you'll hear it. And I believe if you miss it, if you miss it, when we miss it, and we all

do, we spend our life chasing the moments instead of walking in the mission. And today we're

going to take on the mission of what Jesus has called us to. I hope everybody's having a good morning.
