That was a little bit contrived, don't you think? Today I'm going to talk about how to spot a scam

incredibly despite the weight of regulation on financial services in this country

there are still far too many scams, far too many crux around trying to part you from

your money so here are just a few ways that you can spot that before it happens.

So let's stick five... bang my finger. So let's stick five minutes on the clock down here.

Who knows whether we'll stick to it? I think this is number 13 and I've managed to stick to that five

minutes once in total but let's have a go and crack on the first way to spot a

scammer is that they tend to make unsolicited phone calls these These are not people with high street offices

that you go and knock on their door. Generally these are people who will call you

out of the blue with an unsolicited phone call. Another giveaway is that they tend to use mobile phone numbers only

and if they do ask you to send them any documents,

they'll either ask you to send it by Courier

or to a PO Box address. These are massive red flags you need to watch for them and if in any doubt one of those red flags shows up you run away.

Another telltale sign of a scammer is applying a lot of pressure on you for a quick decision.

Any legit financial advisor will give you all the time you need to make a decision that's right for you.

They will never pressure you for an immediate or very quick decision.

Very often we're talking tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds, sometimes entire pension funds.

Why would you need to make a quick decision about that?
