Whole genres are built around this figure.

They are generally lone wolves. They court danger. They embody our belief that the rot is deep

and only the correct gray night can expose it. Not white knight. Part of being a private investigator

is a wariness, a standing apart from

society's ills while playing a small part to protect those harm by the system. Well, today, I have

someone who wants to be that, shall we not say private dick, but perhaps the gumbiness on her

shoe reflects a yearning or an itching.

I have a strong sense of justice, of wanting to get to the bottom of the evils of the world.

I read Encyclopedia Brown as a kid, Nancy Drew, Harriet the Spy, Hardy Boys.

Fast forward to Sherlock Holmes. Syke, psych, Sean the psychic spy is really my

true hero. So hopefully we can get to the bottom of how to develop those skills today. But I'm really

glad I've finally found a space to learn how to set the world to rights. Yeah, this is the way to do it.

Now, I'm just going to glean from hearing about your background

that you went to set the world right on sort of the macro level by being a foreign policy

expert, but this is pursuing your desire to do it one victimized, possibly sympathetic person

at a time. Yeah, I mean, thankfully, I've solved every foreign policy

issue. Very good. Yes. I've looked around the world and I'm like, oh, who was that?
