Shooting and killing bears cleanly is sometimes challenging and today we're going to talk about that.

I've got an old friend of mine, he's been on the podcast several times before on the line out of Alaska.

It gets me communicating with the outside world a little bit.

Yeah, you got that that rider's tunnel vision going I take it.

Yeah a little bit of that.

It's easy and you know been get you kind of we're still we're in like second winter

here now so I mean it's just easy to be get sucked into it get get sucked into a

mode and you know

sure tough for me to break out of it sometimes

i remember a phrase that you once said i think on your podcast you were talking

about shooting black bears and somebody had

written in or something with some kind of a snarky comment and

you know about shooting black bears. I think if I remember right you said I'm pretty sure I've shot two or three dump trucks full of black bears in my time now that maybe that was you maybe that was you and your friends

combined I don't know but I remember thinking you know that's quite a lot of

I you could call it data yeah I'm sure you have stored in your memory on shooting bears.

Bears, they say, can be challenging because the vitals are located in different places and just the hair, long hair can make them look at different shape

than they really are and so forth. I've heard everything from trying to break their

shoulders with your first shot to shoot them in the middle of the middle because

their vital sip backward.
