0:47.6	reading what he's put out and getting his take has been was really important through the 2022 election cycle for both
0:55.5	Alex and myself Mike welcome hello good to be here so Mike I want to get to something
1:02.0	that we were talking about pre-show which was actually for both of you.
1:05.8	You guys can both really kind of wave your hands and say I was right a really long time ago.
1:11.2	What our listeners probably don't know is, you know, and Joe, Mike and I have been talking for a while now and Mike's been building a lot of these kind of coalitions, but you guys both called a lot of this way way before 2022, 2021, 2021, 2020, even before that.
1:27.0	Yeah, I think that, I mean, I don't know that, like my goal was to call it.
1:33.0	My goal was to say that, you know, on January 6th, 2021,
1:38.0	we had the first insurrection in American history
1:42.1	and somehow the sort of savvy political class thought well this
1:47.8	had to be a regular midterm and maybe Democrats talk about, I don't know, prescription drug prices or something,
1:56.7	as if this thing hadn't happened.
1:59.6	And that points to the fact that there really two versions of what's happening in America.
2:06.0	There's one in which once Trump became president, we entered a new political era in which there was much greater engagement by voters because
2:17.3	voters understood there was much more at stake now. And so we saw in 2018 by far the largest increase in turnout in American streets.
2:26.0	Pretty a historical and Magga lost. We went to 2020, highest, another high turnout election, and Trump lost.
