Robert Aldridge is the 258th Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Scotland.

He previously served a Councilor in Edinburgh since 1984, focusing on city enviornment, recycling, refuse collection, street cleaning, parks, and homelessness. He is the former Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Single Homeless and latterly Homeless Action Scotland.

Today's episode is particularly exciting for me as I spend a lot of time in Edinburgh

and it's exciting for City Week because Edinburgh, Scotland and Austin, Texas are the two greatest cities in the history of mankind, as confirmed by

It's just about the only two things they agree on and I am going to speak to

So, with this interview, I slightly beefed up my credentials and asked to interview the Lord Provost

who graciously agreed, and then I got invited to his office at the city chambers got to sit in a nice soft

leather couch in a really cool mahogany room with big clocks and stuff.

It was amazing. Afterwards he took a photo with me

wearing his official Lord medallion. I'm pretty sure my credit rating went up
