Today on the show, Seth Part Now is in the building, and we are going to talk about

the massive NBA player tiers project that he just completed over at the

athletic.

He ranked, sort of ranked, I guess.

I don't know that I want to say ranked, but he put down the top 125 players into

five separate tiers, didn't rank within the tiers, but did rank overall, I would say.

So, Seth, how you doing, man? It's good to get back on the phone with you.

These are not rankings. They are groupings rather than rankings.

Yeah.

That's a good word for it.

It's almost like you're practiced right now in terms of the terminology for them.

Yeah.

But I think that your kind of main area of expertise, the draft, is kind of the one area of player evaluation where a forced one through X ranking

makes sense.

Yeah.

Everywhere else, I think that it can almost obscure more than it illuminates.

So I kind of prefer to group players together because within these groups, it's, you know, who would you rather have?

Well, it depends. What else do I have? What am I trying to do? You know, what's the situation

matters as much to your answer as to which player you think is a little tiny bit better than another?
