you know, sometimes the messages are all getting through.

They're just not prepared or ready or mature enough to receive them.

And then when they go out in the world and learn a little what the world's about,

you realize that all the messages are still floating around in there and they start to land.

And it's really gratifying.

One of the reasons I started this podcast was to help my kids, Zoe and Calvin, learn how to become financially savvy.

That way, they'll not only be able to survive on their own, but they'll be able to thrive

and really take our family tree to the next level.

Now, Zoe's only six, and Calvin is only three, so I've got a long way to go before

they are off on their own.

But I've heard it's never too early to start.

According to a survey by Nefi, the National Endowment for Financial Education, only

24% of millennial respondents showed basic financial literacy. Yikes, basic. That's no good.

Now, my kiddos are part of Generation Alpha, and I had to look this one up on Google. I didn't even

know that existed. But evidently, they are the

children of millennials. That would be me. I've been working hard to improve my financial know-how.

So my kids are not lumped into this 24% that do not show the basic financial literacy.
