With January 19th looming, TikTok's 170 million American users face an uncertain future. The popular video sharing app owned by the China-based bite dance could be banned nationwide unless

its U.S. operations are divested by the state. The ban would be enacted under the Protecting

Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, or the P-A-F-A-C-A, which was signed

into law in 2024 to address concerns over national security risk posed by foreign-owned apps.
