Summary

Deceiving ourselves trips us up on our spiritual walk. When we deceive ourselves, we are blind to the assumptions we make and think we are right when we are actually wrong. Much of this is delivered through the pulpit; wrong doctrine deceives us so that we do not see the truth of God’s love and grace. Our success in life hinges on knowing our true identity as His righteous children. God wants to show us that we are His reflection; understanding this prevents us from being deceived. Letting the Holy Spirit guide us in how to live keeps us humble and protects us from pride, which is closely intertwined with self-deception. Sharing God’s perspective though Jesus Christ gives us the spiritual vision we need.

Let's see, we got this session, and then next week, and we'll close this series up, but we're continuing to talk about self-deception.

0:26.6

And one of the reasons why we continue to talk about self-deception is that all of us have been in the position where we've been maybe deceived about about something self-deception is kind

0:40.9

of tricky because we're often not aware of it when we're doing it I mean that's how good we are

0:48.4

with it we're not aware of self-deception while we're doing it why Why? Because, you know, when you're self-deceived,

0:57.2

you think you're right, but you're wrong, but you think you're right, but you can't see it.

1:01.2

Okay. And as we grow in the Lord, and especially in the Word of God,

1:07.7

we begin to develop above self-deception's ability to blind us.

1:15.4

And so as Christian people, there are lots of things we have been deceived about, mainly

1:21.4

because of what has come through the pulpit.

1:24.6

And then we bought it, and then it became religious in our lives. And then we defended it.

1:30.2

And, you know, from that point on, how we listened to the word became a whole lot different.

1:35.8

And so lives are not really the way they are. And from my study, especially in 2024 and up to now,

1:43.4

as I read the New Testament, it appears to me that God

1:49.0

is doing his best to try to get us to realize who we really are. This word shocked me. I don't know

1:57.4

if it was on Friday or Saturday, but the Spirit of the Lord said to me, and when I say he said to me, this was really impressed in my heart. He said, when you look at the word and when you look at me, Jesus, I want you to see the reflection of yourself. He says, when you look at Jesus, I want you to see the reflection of yourself. He says, when you look at Jesus, I want you to see the reflection of yourself.

2:22.3

When you look at the word, I want you to see the reflection of yourself. It's like when you look

2:27.2

in the mirror in your bathroom, you see the reflection of yourself. And Jesus says, when you look at me,

2:32.6

see the reflection of yourself. I'm trying to get you to see that, that, that you are me.
