0:04.0	And the topic of today's newsletter is going to be how to overcome low self-esteem and abandonment issues.
0:11.0	So I've got an email from a guy, he's 27, obviously he's struggling a lot in life.
0:17.0	And it really goes to show, like in his email, you can tell when we grow up, when
0:24.2	kids grow up in a difficult environment where, because I can't remember who said this quote,
0:31.7	but I read it years ago, I think it's fantastic about kids. And it says that a parent's job is to fill their child's bucket of self-esteem
0:42.4	so full that the world can't poke enough holes in it to drain it dry. And so you can see what
0:50.9	happens when somebody grows up in an environment and the parents don't
0:56.3	provide that role to their children and the negative effect, especially when kids grow up in an
1:02.3	environment where it's just an absolute train wreck.
1:05.3	And this particular guy's parents were both alcoholics.
1:09.1	His mother died when he was a little boy, and his father died a
1:13.6	few years ago, dropped out of a heart attack, and I guess his father was driving drunk one night and
1:18.2	passed out, hit a pole, and his mother went through the windshield, and I guess she died
1:23.8	sometimes shortly thereafter that. And so as he says in his email is that he got bullied at school
1:31.2	as a result because he didn't think very highly of himself. And at the end of the day, all of us
1:36.5	have met people that are needy and insecure and basically act like they don't measure up
1:42.0	and they're not worthy. And when you go through life believing that about yourself, you're going to act from that place.
1:49.6	And other people are going to tease you and make fun of you coming from that place as well.
1:56.0	And so what do you do if you come from an environment like this?
2:03.8	So it's like all of us, and when we grow up,
2:10.3	we're trying to overcome the insecurities, the fears, the doubts, the limiting beliefs,
