Let's get into the Word of God. On Sunday mornings, we're going through Galatians chapter by

chapter, verse by verse. Today we'll finish chapter 5, and our text will be verses 22 through 26.

Once you find your way there in your Bibles, if you're able, if not that's all right, but you can

stand, you can follow along as I read.

Beginning in verse 22 where the Apostle Paul is writing by the Spirit of God and says,

but the fruit of the Spirit is love.

Joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, faithfulness, gentleness,

and self-control. Against such things, there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh

with its passions and desires. Since verse 25, we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the

spirit. Let us not become conceded, provoking,

and envying each other. Let's pray if you would join with me and we'll ask God's blessing

on our understanding. Loving Heavenly Father, would you at this time settle our hearts and especially any anxiety or stress that we might have brought with us here to church today?

Lord, we want to humble ourselves before you. And in so doing, we want for our

hearts to be supple so that the seed of your word would be able to take root and germinate and sprout

and bear much fruit. Lord, that's our desire,

and we know that this is your desire for us as well. So Lord, would you grant us this grace,

we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. He can be seated, thank you. So today is going to be part

three of a teaching series I've titled How to Overcome Carnality. As I mentioned before, I've been

really looking forward to this particular passage

in God's Word, and this for a number of reasons, not the least of which, is that once again,

we have in our text the what of God's Word packaged with the how of God's word. In other words, not only are we told what we're to do,
