Summary

We are living in a broken world surrounded by broken people. It is impossible to go through life without being broken in some area. However, we must not use this as an excuse to stay where we are without making progress. In His Word, God promises to be with us and deliver us from whatever brokenness we suffer. He turns it into something good, makes us whole again, and brings us back to Him. Brokenness puts us in a place that makes us willing to do anything that God asks of us, without any resistance. When we are hurting and suffering, our pain is not pointless; just as Jesus was broken on the cross but was raised three days later, we will also be delivered from our brokenness when we trust in Him.

something, and this is something that's social very important. It's the fact that we are living in a

0:41.1

broken world with a whole lot of broken systems. We are living around a whole lot of broken people,

0:53.6

and there's just a lot of things that are going on that we need to understand. And so several weeks

ago, I began to minister to you on the subject of brokenness and how we need to begin to overcome

1:11.0

brokenness. And I got some things I saw people were saying, well, I'm not broken. Well, I got to

1:18.8

make sure you understand that no one makes it through life avoiding brokenness. And that just

1:26.8

said to me that a lot of people just don't understand what brokenness is and what brokenness is all

1:32.4

about. You know, I've broken pencils in my life. I've broken Christmas ornaments when we used to put

1:39.1

the little ornament on the silver tree and dropped it and it broke. I've experienced broken

promises. I broke my collarbone one time. I've had broken friendships. I've had broken dreams. I've

1:52.4

had a broken heart. And I felt fevers break after being on my body and after shivering and since that

2:04.9

that my will. I've seen that broken after long internal struggles. I heard tensions and few

2:13.0

silence break. I've heard soft and gentle or loud or angry voices break. You see, there's a whole

2:22.3

lot of ways to be broken. And from our souls to our fingertips, brokenness is woven throughout all

2:32.8

of our human experiences. And so the meaning of brokenness and the Bible, it's deep and it's rich.

2:41.7

It's varied but closely related to all sides of things that are going on. And yet I don't want us

2:50.1

to get to a place today where we are using brokenness as like a cliche. Some people use the word
