Summary

We can all recognise this sorry state of affairs, and it’s not fun! We discuss the difference between procrastinating, being temporarily frozen, or being truly blocked. Is a real block caused by a disconnect  between what you ‘want’ and what you are actually doing? Is it a result of losing your connection with your deeper self? While a pause is OK - and sometimes needed and necessary - we come up with some questions to ask yourself. And potentially two different ways you get get inspired again by leaning in and investigating.

We also answer a listener who is struggling with multiple styles and discuss how a teenage concert reminded Alice of the importance of finding your own creative path.

I have had my moments of procrastination it has to be said and I think I need a big sign to stick it on the fridge that basically says you know you'll enjoy it once you get started. Hello and welcome to episode.

first of all before we get started, I just want to say thank you so much everybody who has listened, who has shared, who has sent us messages. I think we are both absolutely blown away by the

0:47.3

response aren't we? Yes it's been absolutely fantastic unless you're all

0:52.4

being very very kind and just being nice to us, we really appreciate the fact that you actually like it. Thank you.

0:59.2

I think what's been amazing for me is that we have somehow managed to touch both people kind of emotionally and

1:09.2

intellectually I've had people message and say it's you know brought them tears and recognition and also people

1:16.4

who've done really super practical things like have a massive studio clear out so the fact that

1:20.7

we're making any difference at all is incredible because really we're just here to have a matter aren't we?

1:25.0

And we don't think we have anything especially brilliant to say which we don't but I think what we do have is honesty, and that's the feedback I've been getting from people, is that thank you for being honest and for saying, for talking about our struggles.

1:45.0

And that's what I always appreciate when I listen to other people so I can see that.

1:50.0

Yeah, I think the worrying thing in that for me is I wonder that I'm going to, and I worry that I'm going to totally contradict myself because the reality is that we don't have a fixed thought process.

2:03.7

It changes a bit from week to week.

2:05.4

So I'm sure that one week I'm going to say something.

2:08.9

And then three weeks later I'll say something

2:11.2

that's contradictory.

2:12.2

And everyone will say, hang on a a minute that's not what I know that's exactly what I was thinking the other day I was thinking and also because we recorded a few of these a little bit in advance, I'll be saying, oh, I'm completely stuck, and then the next

2:26.0

week I'll be saying, oh, I'm flying along, and it will seem really weird. But I do feel like that.

2:31.9

When you feel stuck, you feel totally stuck. like that when you feel stuck you feel totally stuck and then when you feel

2:35.0

flying you feel totally flying and it can be within a few days of each other.

2:38.7

Yeah it's been quite hard to kind of catch up in terms of listening to the ones that have gone out and
