Summary
They want your energy. You don't have to give it.
Part 2: Dr. Phil continues his conversation with Dave Asprey, biohacking creator, founder of Bulletproof and neuroscience pioneer, to reveal why emotional reactivity is your biggest vulnerability especially when dealing with narcissists, gaslighters, and energy vampires.
Learn the difference between narcissists and sociopaths, how to train your nervous system to stop feeding toxic people, and why forgiveness isn't about them, it's your reset button. This isn't self-help fluff. It's brain science, trauma repair, and personal power that actually works.

| 0:00.0 | The reset process has another name for it, but it's a name that triggers a lot of people. |
| 0:05.0 | And it's forgiveness. I've forgiven people that don't even know that they transgress. It has nothing to do with them. It has to do entirely with me. Peace is power and calm is control. |
| 0:34.0 | So narcissist and sociopaths, talk about that a little bit, if you will, because you get into this deep-seated fear and shame that they have to protect and hide. |
| 0:38.7 | Dr. Amen, our mutual friend you mentioned earlier, has looked at the brains of sociopaths, and they are different brains. |
| 0:45.5 | I think it's possible for narcissists with a lot of deep work and very deep work to possibly heal and to become healthy. |
| 0:56.2 | But I don't know if that's possible for sociopaths. But if you have either one and heavily meditated in the chapter on this, I'll talk |
| 1:01.2 | about what do you do about it. And the most important thing to understand is if you have someone |
| 1:06.3 | gaslighting you or treating you with these patterns, it creates an injury, we'll call it a spiritual |
| 1:12.0 | injury in you that is just as important as if you got whiplash in a car accident. And you want |
| 1:18.4 | to heal your emotions and your spirit if you dealt with narcissistic abuse. And it happens |
| 1:24.2 | way more often in the workplace or in our relationships than people |
| 1:27.7 | recognize. And it makes you question your reality. And that's a good sign that that's what's |
| 1:32.8 | going on. With regard to sociopaths, I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to every rule, but this is |
| 1:37.7 | the one group that I've found tend to actually typically frequently, at least, get worse in therapy rather than better. |
| 1:49.1 | And the reason I say that is because what they do is they don't have the ability to be |
| 1:54.9 | empathetic. |
| 1:56.0 | They don't actually have genuine feelings. |
| 2:00.3 | And what they do is they learn from the therapist how to |
| 2:06.4 | mimic those behaviors through role playing and modeling. And so they go, oh, that's how you do that. |
| 2:13.9 | So now they go out and they know how to sneak up and disarm people because they learn |
| 2:18.7 | how to reflect feelings. They learn how to mimic empathy. And so they just become better at it |
| 2:28.0 | and get closer to people where they can damage them more. So I've found that therapy actually |
