be spending time in the practice room working on in general?

And what do I mean by balanced practice sessions?

Now, have you ever worked out, gone to the gym, done any bodybuilding or muscle lifting?

I'm personally a runner myself.

But what they don't do is they don't go to the gym and only do upper body exercises or only do lower body exercises.

If they did that, they would be disproportionate, right? Their bodies would look strange and funny and

misshaped. And they spread out their workouts. They do, you know, upper body workouts one day.

They do lower body workouts the next day. And as musicians, as jazz musicians, it's kind of the same thing. We want to be getting balanced practice sessions. So that's what this episode's all about today. I'm going to talk to you a lot more about that.
