If you grow a lot of brassicas, broccoli, cauliflower, corabi, these sorts of things, to be

honest it's something I struggled with for quite some time in the garden until we sort

of cracked it in the last couple of seasons here in San Diego.

So we've grown a lot of brassicas here now at Epic Gardening and we have Linda Lee back

on the show.

So we talked yesterday, Linda, about caratops and not only are they not poisons but you

can use them in a lot of creative ways.

And so now that I've finally figured out how to master my brassicas in San Diego, what

are some cool ways that you like to use them besides the obvious, of course?

For me with brassicas, I treat them as unconventional salad greens.

You know, a lot of times with broccoli, cauliflower, and different types of other vegetables

like beans and peas, you're waiting a really long time to get to the good part is why

people consider it, right?

Like the fruiting parts.

But a lot of times you can actually use the plants before they get to that stage and

it's like having a little bonus harvest where you can get like two or even three different

vegetables out of one plant.

So with brassicas, I really like to use the leaves before you get to like all the different

buds and flowers that come up.
