Turn with me, if you would please, to three openings.

Three openings this evening.

Matthew 8, Mark 4, and Luke 8.

Thank God for the Word of God.

I'm telling you, where would we be without the Word of God?

Without the Bible.

In a mess. mess would be lost.

The word we're told in the gospel accounts,

John tells us, that not everything that Jesus said and did was recorded.

He said that he supposed that if everything, that, you know, he writes his account and he gets

to the last chapter there, and he says that many other things, he said, Jesus said and did

other than what he recorded.

And he said, he supposed that if everything that Jesus said and did was recorded,

not even the world itself would contain the books that should be written.

So we have actually a very small part recorded of everything that Jesus said and did.

And because that's all we needed.

But the things that we do have were handpicked by the Holy Ghost.

Amen.

And they are pertinent to everybody, everywhere in every generation.

Amen.

What I'm saying is none of these accounts, none of these stories, none of these teachings that are recorded for us, were just something that happened for them then, or was for that group of people.
