For a man, the hardest thing is not to have the trial or to find who's responsible,

but to figure out how to be a joyful, healthy person through it.

The best version of you for all the people that are depending on you.

This is where sometimes men just get very selfish, they get very broken, they get very grumpy, they get very angry, they get very fearful, none of which helps.

Because here's the situation.

Wherever you lead, you're determining the culture that everyone else lives in.

Like you're an angry dad.

How many of you grew up in a home with an angry dad?

You come home and you're like,

this is not a great place to be. In just the environment? It's just tense. How many of you you had the press dad? That was not an environment that was enjoyable to be in. How many of you had the fearful

dad, the anxious dad, the grumpy dad, the bitter dad.

You're like, yeah, that was not a place that was a life-giving environment to be in.

Now, the thing is, now that you are the leader, this can be in your work, this can be in your home,

this can be in our church, this can be wherever God gives you influence. The question is, what's in here determines the culture out there?

So you need to let the Holy Spirit bring joy in here so that there can be life out there.

How many of you men grew up in a home when trials came,

the worst version of your father came out?

Okay?

What we want it to be for you is when the trial comes,

the best version of you comes out.

That the environment around you is one that the people who depend on you and need you,

they want to stick close to you
