Wow... this interview with MJ Day! Ever since I was a little girl, I admired the strong women who graced the most iconic publication there is... Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. What began as a magazine for men during the lull of sports in the winter season, became the epitome of strong, confident, and unstoppable women... for women. In 1964, the very first issue came to life and since then, SI has released an issue every year with women who are breaking barriers and showing that beauty has no boundaries.
SI has been a place where women are not only celebrated... they are given a voice and a place to own their body, their story, and represent the unrepresented.
Sports illustrated is legendary... and there’s a legend behind it. And she’s today’s guest on the Podcast!
The Deputy Editor MJ Day is here to share her story of how she landed the job, how she leads with compassion, and tons of surprises and behind the scenes stories. I can't wait for you to hear from her. She's one of the most special humans I've ever had the joy of working with. She has dedicated her career to empowering women and her heart expands with everyone that she meets. MJ is truly one of a kind...
Thank you to MJ, Janine, Jo, Margo, Emily and the entire team for opening up your arms and welcoming me into the SI Family!
