I shared some insights picked up from the great coach K yesterday, and I was looking at some more of my research and transcription notes,

and I thought I'd share a few other great tips from the great leader of men and women.

He is, after all, the father of three girls.

When asking him what he'd attribute his astonishing win record, which is now over 1,100 wins surpassing his mentor,

I never dreamed of coaching the Olympic basketball team and winning gold.

I only wanted to be a great coach.

I focused on the process of excellence

in everything that we did. All the results that I've accumulated are just a byproduct of that.

Furthermore, he added, it is the leader's job to set the standard of excellence and then work

with a team to achieve that standard.

I really believe if a leader is a stickler on high performance, on excellence in everything

that we do, then winning games will be a natural byproduct.

So we don't talk about winning national championships or Olympic gold.

We only talk about developing our very best game, bringing

excellence to everything that we do. We've created a system here where we develop those
