Chris. Welcome to the Entry Leadership Podcast. Hi, Dave. Thank you so much for taking my call

and offering some wisdom. We'll give it a shot, bro. What's up? I am a principal and engineering

company, newly in the position of a, we call director of business operations, taking over for a

founding partner. We are a civil engineering land development firm 2022 revenue, 14 million. Wow,

good. Playing simple is my question is, how do I lead business development when I zero business

training? Okay. How are you running operations when you have zero business training?

Um, just the founding partner did it since he founded in 1989 and about 10 years ago. I just

started asking questions. How do we do this? How do we do that? And I slowly transitioned into

doing more and more of it, but now that founding partner wants to do what he started the business for

and the design and art skills, I'll say, that he enjoys. So I'm basically taking over

the business part of it. I do have him as a safety net to check. Yeah, but you've been doing a lot

of it already. Yes, I have. So the only question is just developing the team, helping the team to grow.
