So, Ted, we're speaking just a day after the anniversary of D-Day, and the images of that day are so salient. I'm sure you saw many of them growing up. So what

made you want to serve in the military? Yeah, that's a great question. And I wish I had an answer for

you, like that I grew up with this patriotism bubbling up in me and I just couldn't mute it anymore

so I had to go serve.

But it was a really practical reason. I was a math major in college who didn't want to go to

grad school and didn't want to teach, but I also did not want to go live in my parents' basement

after graduation. And so I was thinking about what are the jobs that I could do with this

degree that would pay me
