My podcast guest for this show, Dan Clark, previously worked as a website and app developer, but switched careers from building an advertising agency and came across Brain.fm. In his first session, he bought an account and was so excited after a week of use, he needed to be part of the company. He called 12 times. He finally got a job and worked the first month for free. Fast forward, he’s now the CEO, and 2019's Forbes 30 under 30. Dan is always excited about how technology can change the world, and Brain.fm is no exception - via non-invasive neurotechnology that does not require plant medicines, nootropics or drugs to shift you into an altered or elevated state of consciousness.

Brain.fm holds patents on key processes for creating functional music, including technology to elicit strong neural phase locking—allowing populations of neurons to engage in various kinds of coordinated activity—and technology to remove distraction in sound. This makes their music unique, purpose-built to steer you into a desired mental state. In other words, they've found new ways to create music that helps you do what you need to do.

Scientists atBrain.fm work with collaborators at academic institutions to run experiments. They looked at the effects of our technology on the brain, using fMRI and EEG, and also run large-scale behavioral tests, measuring performance on simple games. Their experiments always include a control condition (‘placebo’) of the same underlying music without Brain.fm technology applied, so they can be sure our tech is what makes the difference. In this podcast, you'll discover what their science has found, and much more.

Also joining us on today's call is Dr. Kevin J.P. Woods, Director of Science at Brain.fm.

On this episode of the Ben Greenfield Fitness Podcast, people need to understand that the

0:05.7

majority of music is made specifically to distract and that's so important that I'm

0:10.1

going to say it again. If you're a great music producer, your job is to distract people.

0:14.6

We can literally use technology, make these shifts extremely quickly. It's almost like

0:19.5

a cheat code for life.

0:20.8

It doesn't matter what language you speak, where you are in the diversity spectrum, it's

0:24.8

that we're all human and we're starting to figure out the things that help us and get

to the next level.

Health, performance, nutrition, longevity, ancestral living, biohacking, and much more.

Hello, I want to interrupt today's show, which is, I guess, appropriately enough brought

0:56.9

to you by nicotine because we all know smoking cigarettes can turn your teeth brown, right?

1:01.4

But if you like nicotine and you like the pick me up that nicotine can give you, this

1:05.2

company Lucy, they make, they're an oral nicotine company, but they make nicotine gum and

1:09.9

losenges and these pouches. By the way, their espresso flavored pouch is amazing. I love

1:14.5

it. This little 4 milligram espresso flavored pouch, almost as good as a cup of coffee,

1:19.1

even better with a cup of coffee.

1:20.9

And anyways, I have to tell you disclaimer. This product does contain nicotine and nicotine

1:25.9

is an addictive chemical. I have to tell you that. Okay. But aside from that warning, if

1:32.3

you haven't used nicotine as like a cognitive pick me up, it's not like smoking a cigarette

1:36.6

and all those toxins. It's just pure clean nicotine and Lucy does a really good job

1:40.2

to make it a super clean product. So you're going to get 20% off if you go to Lucy.co and
