Summary

If you haven’t been introduced to Carlos Whitaker, today’s your day! Carlos is a dynamic author, speaker, storyteller, and hope dealer who is in high demand as a podcast guest. You’re about to see why!

Our conversation today surrounds his new book, How to Human. We’re considering what it looks like to get back to the very basics of who God created us to be. Living in a world filled with anxiety, broken relationships, and divisiness has caused us to lose touch with each other. . .  and with God.

Tune in today as Carlos and I explore our humanity through the eyes of Jesus and consider practical ways to recalibrate our lives.

This is Cynthia Yanov, and you're listening to Pardon the Mess.

Each week we have honest discussions about the ups and downs of parenting and the lessons God is teaching us along the way. It's real, it's fun, and it's biblical. Life is messy. Don't walk

the parenting road alone. Hey guys, welcome to pardon the mess. I'm glad you're with us today.

It is a great day to be with us because listen up, I'm starting a new

0:37.5

initiative. It's a Hallmark Day. And by a new initiative, I literally just mean I'm going to do it

1:17.0

I understand that. Let's all be on the same page, but we can still laugh about it. So I had a big SUV.

1:22.4

I thoroughly enjoyed driving around town, very comfortable. It was fairly luxurious. All the things,

1:27.4

full of goldfish and all the

1:28.6

things happens when you drive a big car like that and have a little kid. And we started having a little

1:33.4

bit of trouble with it and my husband was like, nope, we're done. And so he sold it on a whim and he was just

1:39.0

going to buy another one, a newer one with less problems, hopefully. We were very naive. We did not understand

1:45.7

the state of vehicle purchasing. You can't get them. It's very hard to get new cars or it was

1:52.0

back last, end of last summer. And so as he went to go buy me a new one, there was not one to be

1:57.1

had and there was waiting lists and all this ridiculousness. And so jokingly, I said
