We'll read Luke first, then we'll read 1 Samuel 14.

I'm talking to you about the helps ministry, of course, and we're talking about how to help someone. And we said the first

point that we mentioned to you is that a true helper is one whose heart God has touched. And so

you have somebody in your heart and on your heart to help them. God did that. It's not according to just

your personal preference, but God put somebody on your heart. And so now you're starting from the

right foundation. But also, to be a good helper, you've got to have an unselfish heart.

An unselfish heart.

And this is a big factor.

And I'll be frank with you, you don't just meet really unselfish people all over the place.

You don't. I think sometimes we just kind of sit in church. people all over the place.

You don't.

I think sometimes we just kind of sit in church and assume everybody's full of faith,

everybody walks in the love of God, everybody, well, no, no, that's not reality.

The nature of your flesh and my flesh is selfishness. That's the nature of your flesh and my flesh is selfishness.

That's the nature of your flesh.

And unless you let the love of God inside you dominate you.

And unless your spirit's stronger than your flesh, then you will be selfish.

And every day of your life, you're tempted to be selfish.

You will be today.

You will be tomorrow.
