Welcome to this new episode of explicitly pro-life podcast.

Today, I want to play for you a conversation I just recently had on a Facebook live

with two folks who have personal experience with the foster care system.

Every time I'm a college campus, if there is a hostile crowd, the foster care system

will get brought up in the Q&A.

And it's always a justification for abortion.

And, you know, I spend a lot of time kind of rebutting kind of just fallacies of people who

don't understand what the foster care system is really for and why it was established.

But I really wanted to get a little bit more

to the heart of the matter and see where we as the pro-life movement can engage more in the foster

care and adoption kind of niche that world, where there are holes, there's service gaps that need

to be filled. And also to figure out, are there things that we're saying that maybe we

shouldn't be saying? So I invited on DJ Jordan on he and his wife are foster parents in San

Virginia. They also adopted in Virginia. I also invited Sarah Zagorski. Sarah works for Louisiana

Right to Life. I met her years ago and she was in Colorado,

working for Colorans for life. Sarah was placed in foster care as a child because of abuse.

She endured at home with her mother, her mom, who I believe was a, she has 11 siblings.

And so it's a really a heartbreaking story to hear uh sarah's um first eight nine years of life but she was eventually placed in foster care and then she was adopted out of

foster care and so sarah kind of will talk about her story a little bit and And I think it'll give some good perspective for us and give us some good information

of how we can be talking about the foster care and adoption system and maybe start kind of

getting the wheels turning in our heads of what we can do to engage.
