For me, sitting still at home was not okay.

I always had to be cleaning, doing my schoolwork, helping my mom, like, sitting still and just

chilling.

Like, that wasn't really a thing, especially, like, when my dad was around.

I brought that into my adulthood and turned it into my work ethic.

And then the American dream, the capitalistic ideology of working hard is glorified, boosted that idea,

and then I felt like that was okay for me to perpetuate that toxic idea and continue to

overwork.
