Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart. Well, as we jump in today, I want to start by honoring the Harky boys.

Many of you know who they are, John Harky, who was leading worship right up here,

and Jacob Harky, who leads our spiritual formation, neighborhood nights, all those sort of

midweek gatherings and much more.

Both of them, our entire team was in Atlanta this week for our team day, kind of a training

and learning.

They left after that, and they both independently went to different funerals to minister to

families from our church community.

And so that is the life of pastors, life of ministers, and the life of many of you that we're always

moving between sorrow and rejoicing, celebrating life and then grieving the end of life.

And both of them did a wonderful job of grieving and mourning for families in our church.

I don't know if you know this.

Maybe you missed the statistics.

Our church skews young.

Just look around and you'll see.

And so we do a lot more weddings and

births than we do funerals. But we have done a few, and it's a fascinating thing when you watch

death enter into a community, be it a church or be it a family community or a friendship group.

Death is a weighty thing, and it can break some communities, or it can bond some others
