Nehemiah had a massive construction project assigned to him to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem.

His successful accomplishment earned him a well-deserved promotion.

And today, on Insight for Living,

Chuck Swindall will talk about Nehemiah's success and the dangers that came with it.

You see, when we're acknowledged for strong performance in the workplace and when our boss

chooses to advance our role, there are temptations that come.

Chuck is teaching from Nehemiah Chapter 5.

Let's pick up the study that started on our previous program.

It's titled, How to Handle a Promotion. I am really beginning to love Nehemiah more than ever. This man is such a perfect balance of humanity.

He can handle it when things are bad, he can handle it when things are good.

And today we're going to see him, not demoted, but promoted.

And that was the test of his integrity,

as we shall see.

Look at verse 14 of chapter 5 in Nehemiah.

It says that from the day that I was appointed to be their governor. Now that was the highest position in the

land of Judah. From that day that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah from the 20th to the 32nd year of King

Art Xerxes.

Now Nehemiah accepted the appointment and immediately was faced with the four major areas

of anyone that will face a promotion.

I want to share them with you one by one. All four are right here

between verses 14 and 18. First of all in every promotion there are privileges there are rights there are benefits there are

special favors that are provided.
