In episode fifty-nine of The Running Effect, I speak with Jesse Williams. Jesse is the CEO and Founder of Sound Running. Prior to starting Sound Running, Jesse was the Senior Sports Marketing Manager at Brooks Running for fourteen years.
Using the skills he learned at Brooks, he then went on to start Sound Running. At Sound Running, Jesse has completely transformed how meets are run. Some of the biggest meets he has put on are The Ten, Under Armour Sunset Tour, Brooks PR, and the American Track League. Along with putting on world-class events, Jesse and his team offer coaching plans along with world-class personalized coaching to help you reach your goals!
Way back when, Jesse ran at Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and a Master's in Biomechanics. As a runner, Jesse has run the Boston Marathon 5x as well as the Chicago, London, Berlin, and NYC Marathons. He holds a marathon PR of 2:22.
In this episode, we dive deep into all things track and field. We talk about all the logistics of putting on a track meet, ways we can improve the sport of running, how athletes can market themselves better, all things PPV model, and so much more.
Jesse was one of my first guests when I first started the podcast so it was great to have him back on! Jesse has given back to the sport in an incredible way and it's amazing to see the impact he's having.
You can catch Sound Running's latest meet, "The Track Meet" on May 6 headlined by Olympic Gold Medalist Jakob Ingebrigsten.
