0:00.0	Today, we're going to discuss a plant that I have recently put in the ground here at
0:17.4	the epic homestead in the citrus hedge, and that would be a mandarin orange.
0:22.6	The thing about them is it's actually not just one tree.
0:27.3	Tangerine is used to describe a range of species and hybrids, things like clementines, tangerines,
0:33.2	and set sumas.
0:34.2	These are all different.
0:36.0	So clementines and tangerines, they are hybrids of multiple citrus species.
0:41.2	Tangerines are more closely related to true mandarin because they are a cross between a mandarin
0:46.4	and a pomello.
0:47.9	Set sumas are classified as a different species, although the fruits are very close together
0:52.9	as far as their characteristics go, and then all types can be grown in pretty much the
0:58.2	same way.
0:59.2	So you don't have to freak out about the actual care of them, but they are not the same
1:03.9	plant.
1:04.9	So I felt that that was important to say.
1:06.7	Let's talk then about them.
1:08.1	So citrus reticulata.
1:10.6	It originates in Asia, the name mandarin may have given that away.
1:14.3	The standard tree is going to grow to about 25 feet tall.
1:17.9	So quite tall.
1:18.9	So my dwarf is going to grow to 8 to 10, and then dwarf is going to be a little bit shorter
1:23.1	than that, like five or six feet or so.
