And over the last few weeks, we've been taking a deep dive into the topic of healing,

different aspects of it, how God heals, if He heals, what we're supposed to do when the

healing doesn't happen and understanding His will in the midst of trials and suffering.

A lot of the material was centered around my new book more than a healer. If you haven't

Kindle, and audio version as well. But on today's episode, I want to get back to talking

through Christian doctrines and we have been walking through what the Bible says about

certain things. And we're coming up on one straight year of podcasting. And I want

to discuss Christian holiness in this episode. The question is, how do we grow in holiness?

How do you become more holy? Now, first of all, I want to make sure we're clear. Only

God can do that. Only God can make you more holy. But knowing more about Christian holiness

is very important to helping you understand how you're going to live out your Christian life,

to say that only God can make you more holy is not to say that you do nothing. You just sit

around and live however you want. But it is to first put the weight on the Lord in the sense

of he's the one who does the heavy lifting and he helps you grow in holiness. We want to

understand first though, what holiness is not? Holiness is not a kind of legalism to get yourself

saved. The definition of legalism is literally trying to do good works or living out some law

in order to earn God's favor and make him save you. That's not what holiness is. Holiness is not

being a monk. It's not sitting up in a monastery somewhere by candlelight and riding with a fountain

pen and being real spiritual. Holiness is not going to church. It's not your good works. Although
