Hello, my friends, I'm so glad you're back with me, Carrie Greene here.

This is our opportunity together to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word.

Today we'll be doing so looking at the Gospel of John chapter 14, verses 5 through 9.

And this is all part of a conversation Jesus is having with His disciples as they partake

in the last supper together.

We have that phrase the last supper, more commonly known as the Lord's Table or as communion.

We still practice it within our churches in remembrance of Jesus.

And this is the very first time it was carried out in Jesus had a conversation with His disciples

right in the midst of it.

Now what he has just said to them is that he is about to leave and he's going to a place

they cannot come, at least not yet.

And we know he's talking about his death, his burial, his resurrection and his ascension

into heaven.

And in verse number 4 of chapter 14 he just said, you know the way to where I'm going.

So he's giving them assurances that though I'm leaving, you know how to get to the place

I'm going.

And in verse 5 we pick up with a very natural question because Jesus hasn't been extremely

clear yet on what it is he means.

And Thomas, one of the disciples, says to him, Lord, we do not know where you're going.

How can we know the way?

Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.
