There is a study I read where researchers conducted a mouse fight.

I guess the Michael Vicks of researchers, I guess.

One mouse was drugged so that he was less aggressive as an opponent, making him a literal

ropa dope, I guess, and essentially fixing the fight.

Not surprisingly, the non-doked up mouse won.

Then the researchers had the winning mouse fight another mouse.

That was his equal and physical size.

This time, neither was doked up, so it was a straight up fair fight.

Guess how it worked out?

Yeah, the probability that the previous victor would win again, increased significantly.

But even when they put the winning mouse up against a bigger, more aggressive mouse,

the probability of the first winning mouse rose significantly.

This is what is called the winner effect, and it works equally in humans as well.

Famously, Vince Lombardi, during a practice before an important game against a tough

offense, called a young quarterback over to throw passes against the defense.

This young quarterback wanting to impress the great Lombardi through one completed pass

after another.

Lombardi, furious, stormed up to this young quarterback yelling, are you trying to destroy my defense?

Start throwing interceptions, damn it?
