Dana, we're going to talk about how to never have a pile in your house again, guaranteed, or your money back.

0:05.8

But how you can actually really, how you can eradicate piles, because I think we would both say as former messy people, yeah,

0:12.5

may there be a pile once in a while, yes, in our homes, but it does not, it doesn't have the same scare factor that it used to.

0:19.1

So we're going to talk about that. But before we get started, I want to ask you this question. Today, Dawn is joined by Dana from a slob comes clean,

0:26.0

an author, speaker, podcaster, YouTuber, and much to her own surprise, a decluttering expert.

0:32.4

A slob comes clean is the completely honest and never-ending story of Dana's personal deslobification process. She shares

0:40.0

the truth about cleaning, organizing, and decluttering strategies that actually work in real life

0:45.3

for real people. For those who maybe don't know you as well, if you're in the Take Your Houseback

0:50.5

1:13.0

honest. I just wanted to be a writer. Like I wanted to be a writer and I wanted to write about

1:16.9

life and things. And the thing that was stopping me was my house. My house was a total disaster.

1:23.0

And I knew that if I started writing, I would throw myself into it like I do because that's my

1:27.5

personality. And so I was like, I'm going to get my house under control first. And I just couldn't.

1:32.8

And so I started writing about that, thinking that I was using it as a way to practice and like

1:40.3

learn about writing on the internet and all that. And here we are.

1:46.8

You know, it's like 14 years later and I'm still writing about it.

1:52.6

But now it has turned into my passion because what I discovered through that was that the reason I had always been unsuccessful before was that all of the advice that I heard was

1:59.5

coming from people whose brains worked very differently

2:02.4

from me because most of the people who talk about this are naturally organized and their

2:06.6

brains work very differently from mine. And so I had struggled with that. So as I wrote about it
