| 0:00.0 | Hey, today I got Rich Somers in the house to talk about how boutique hotels are taking over the Airbnb game. Along with him, I've got my favorite co-host, Brian DeVilla, aka the bald guy. What's up, boys? Brian, what's up? Thanks for having me excited for this conversation today. I was last year. I think it's been like almost three years, man. Really? Yeah, time flies. It was summer of 23. So, yeah, two and a half years ago. |
| 0:23.6 | That's crazy. |
| 0:24.5 | Time flies. It was summer of 23. So, yeah, two and a half years ago. That's crazy. Time flies, dude. Yeah, dude, it's been cool watching everything you're doing with the hotels and all of your programs and everything else. And so I'm excited to get the update because Airbnb is really hard. And I've been kind of sounding the alarm on it for a while. |
| 0:39.2 | But now I think more and more people are coming to acceptance that unless you're just really, really good at it, it's really hard. |

| 1:02.7 | the Airbnb game, I'm like, guys, Airbnb is going away in a lot of markets around the country. |
| 1:07.2 | We saw what happened in New York City. We saw what happened in San Francisco. We saw what happened in L.A. I live in San Diego. They slash the Airbnb supply from 17,000 |
| 1:16.2 | listings to 5500. There is 8 million Airbnb listings in the world today. And as Airbnb goes away, |
| 1:23.5 | it's bringing more demand to the boutique hotels. People are still going to travel, but the days of the millennials, the Jen's years, wanting to go travel at the same and stay at the same hotels that our parents or grandparents once loved, you know, the big branded hotels, the Marriots, the Hyattes, the Hampton Inns, those days are over. Just like the restaurant industry, people are really favoring these experiences, these boutiques, these one-off vibes that they can go and share with their friends on Instagram. |
| 1:48.9 | Yeah. |
| 1:49.5 | Yeah, it's interesting about the restaurant industry. |
| 1:51.0 | I was reading the other day. |
