very much for downloading the Scotland Outdoors podcast. I'm Mark Stephen. He's you and Michael

Rhys. And this is a wee bit different. It is a little bit different because usually we travel

around the country, speaking to people, getting their opinions, learning things, fascinating things about Scotland's

wildlife, it's geography, it's geology. This week we've dispensed with all the contributors

because you've got a sore knee.

Yes. Basically that's more or less it. On medical grounds, I've been told I shouldn't drive

for four weeks. Now my first reaction, I said, look, I'm self-employed.

If I don't work, I don't get paid.

If I can't travel, I can't get paid.

And then I thought, hang on a second.

Last week, I'd spoken to a guy called Mike Robinson

from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.

And he was saying, well, I haven't flown internally in the UK in 20 years says I use public transport

wherever possible I use active travel walking running and cycling whatever I can or I use public transport and I thought to myself at the time

could we do the job we do using public transport I don't think we can no I, I must confess, my instinct at the moment is,

as things currently stand with the infrastructure in Scotland,

I don't think we can either.
