Summary

I've been thinking a lot about balance. Am I working too much? Obsessing about my body and what I eat more than enjoying food and accepting myself. And what about my relationships? Am I too consumed in my love and friendships that I don't have enough time and space for me? If you've been thinking about any of this, this episode is for you! Hello, my beautiful people, and welcome back to the Moments podcast. I'm your host, Lexi, and if this is

0:06.6

your first time listening to Moments, welcome. On this podcast, we talk about all sorts of things that

0:12.2

life has to offer us. I really want to pour into this episode with just a heart of personal experience. I have been having a lot of things come up in my life that

0:27.3

have made me realize I'm lacking balance in so many different environments of my life and

0:33.6

different aspects of my life. And because I found myself going through that and recognizing that

0:38.7

within myself, I immediately figured I'm sure that I'm not the only one going through it. But I also

0:43.5

realized that I never fully comprehended the way and the importance of balance and why our life needs it

0:52.9

and how much I was neglecting it. So I'm going to try to

0:57.0

keep this episode nice and bite size because I don't want to sit here and talk and talk and talk for

1:01.9

an hour on end and leave you with nothing. I want to simply share my personal experience,

1:08.5

give you some reflective questions or thought starters to make you think

1:13.6

and evaluate your own life and the balance that you may have or you may be lacking in your life.

1:20.5

So today's episode is all about balance. I spend a lot of my time in my life and in my brain with an all or nothing mindset.

1:32.9

I often believe that if I'm not doing everything all the way, I might as well be doing nothing

1:39.3

at all. And this is a problem that I've had for a really long time. It's one of the first things

1:43.8

my therapist

1:44.3

ever told me back in 2022 because I would believe that if I wasn't finishing my whole entire to-do list, I should just not even be making one. I was believing that if I wasn't going to go to the gym once this week, let me rephrase that. If I wasn't going to go six days a week. I shouldn't go at all. Or if I could

2:01.1

only walk, you know, 20 minutes, I shouldn't walk at all. If I couldn't be entirely knowledgeable on

2:08.5

the thing that I was studying, I shouldn't even make an effort to study. Or if I couldn't read 100 pages

2:13.6

of this book, I might as well just not even read a few pages. And that kind of thinking can really

2:19.9

impact the way that you live your life. It can also impact the way that you see yourself. I found

2:26.0

myself ultimately believing that I was not capable of doing anything that I would say that I would do. I didn't know how to listen to
