What are you living for? Are you living for money, health, career, reputation, even comfort?

Now, these things aren't inherently bad, but they were never meant to be truly and finally

satisfied. Sadly, many professing Christians seem to live for these things while sprinkling

in a little religious devotion here and there. However, based on Mark 12-28-34, Jesus said

that the greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

This is what we were created for, and it's what Jesus saved us to experience and enjoy.

A relationship with the God who is our highest good and our greatest joy. Those who have come

to God through Jesus are then freed and unable to obey the second greatest commandment,

to love their neighbors as themselves. This message from David Platt continues our series

What a text that we're about to dive into. We're going to read today one of the most important,

central, foundational texts in all the Bible. And I can't wait to dive into it because,

as foundational as it is, I am convinced that many Christians, people who call themselves

Christians, will just make it that general, are missing it, either completely or remissing

the wonder of what it means and how it totally transforms our lives, our families, our

purpose in the world. I've prayed that for many of you today, a light bulb would go on

in your mind and your heart. And such a way that you would look back at today and you

would say, that's the day I got it. I saw what was all about, what my life is all about.
