Welcome back to the morning mindset. I'm so thankful that you're here. I'm

thankful that you are intentionally setting aside time to focus on the

truth of God. My friends I encourage you right now, mute

that cell phone, unless that's what you're listening to the morning mindset on

right now. Mute your notifications, put it in airplane mode, set aside time to really focus on the truth that's

being expressed through the word of God this morning.

Because it is powerful to transform lives.

We hear that phrase sometimes, and it can just go in one ear and out the other because we hear it so

often in our day and age that word avail ourselves of it today.

But the word of God is truly powerful to transform.

It's able to do so and we need to avail ourselves of it today. Thank you so much for being with me. Let's look

again at the Gospel of John chapter 15. And we are moving from verse 9 into

verse 10. In verse 9 Jesus gives us this staggering statement of the depth of his love for us by saying,

as the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.

Abide in my love.

So I response to the great and magnificent and

unthinkable love of Jesus toward us is to abide in it. It means to accept it, to rest in it, to move into it in an

active way. And what does that active way look like? Well he tells us in verse 10. If you keep my

commandments you will abide in my love just as I have kept my father's commandments and abide in his love.

Now stop for a moment and think this through.

If I were to tell one of my children when they were very young, I want you to do X, Y, and Z.

And they had a very sorry and resentful attitude toward me because I had asked them to do something
