Improvising over jazz standards is a somewhat

elusive thing. It's this thing that we're all trying to chase and what really has

attracted most of us to playing jazz. However, the act of the responding aspect of improvisation

seems difficult to master and get better at. So how do we practice improvising in such a way that

will help us start making meaningful progress with our improvisations when we do it live? Well, in today's
