You are forgiven, not on your own merits, but on the merits of Christ, your sins forgiven,

and you're declared righteous.

That's way better than the therapeutic.

And we don't have a distant God.

We have the Holy Spirit who works in us to apply to us, who is active in every dimension

of our lives.

So we are countering Christianity counters moralistic therapeutic deism by intensifying the law,

intensifying the message that's not therapeutic, and intensifying our understanding of God's

activity in our lives.
